Houston’s First Baptist Church Presents “The Oath of Desormeau”

WHAT: On Dec. 2, Houston’s First Baptist Church will host the premiere of “The Oath of Desormeau,” winner of the “Best of Festival” and “Audience Choice” Awards from the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival.

The Oath of Desormeau,” a 55-minute film set in Napoleonic France, tells the gripping story of how one man’s vow to protect two orphaned children is carried out even after his unfortunate death. The film premiere is free and open to the public. Following the film, movie watchers are invited to a reception, including a Q & A session with the cast and crew.

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

WHAT ELSE: Richard Ramsey, creator and director of “The Oath of Desormeau,” started his theatre career at The University of Houston and then at Massachusetts’ renowned Berkshire Theatre Festival. Spirituality became a central focus of his work at Sagemont Church; shortly thereafter he launched the Aletheia Stage and Film Company, which produced “The Oath of Desormeau” and award-winning “Washington’s Cross.”
