John Ramsey Television Debut

For those who may be interested, my brother, John Ramsey, will be making his television debut this weekend.

On Friday, June 1 at 11PM CST, he will appear on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham." The show will air again Tuesday, June 5 at 9PM CST.

I feel obligated to warn those intent on watching: You may need to surf the channels during some of the other comics' routines. They're not exactly rated "G."

Here's a clip of John's routine in Austin:

Well, summer vacation has started. I intend to enjoy the first summer vacation that I've had since becoming a teacher. Both the summers of 2005 & 2006 were spent on The Oath of Desormeau, which, by the way, will be showing Wednesday Night at American Vision's Worldview Superconference.

Children of Men

No, I'm not starting film (or book) reviews. I'm commenting on life imitating art.

From abortions mandated by the oppressive Chinese government to those encouraged by radical feminism, another common theme continues to emerge in various leftist ideologies: hatred of children. Environmentalists are now joining the fray by encouraging families to save the planet by having less children.

Oddly enough, according to this spring's Salvo Magazine, many countries, including Japan, Italy, and Spain, are providing financial incentives for couples to have more children to curtail the consequences of alarming depopulation trends. Among them: A growing elderly generation that cannot be sustained by a dwindling young generation (Social Security?). Also, the average European family currently has an average of 1.7 children (Spain - 1.2). Radical Muslims (many residing in Europe) are having an average of six. You do the math.

Hebrews 11:37

I read this story today about three Turkish Christians who were brutally tortured and murdered for their faith.

There's a lot or debating in the media and elsewhere about who is and who is not a true Christian or Muslim. Are Christianity and Islam best represented by their "moderates" or their "fundamentalists?" I say each is best represented by those who most closely imitate the actions of their founder. This is a story of two different sets of people who did exactly that.

Please pray for the Christians in Turkey and other Islamic countries throughout the world.

New Rule

In light of high-profile celebrity activism, I propose the following rule:

Anyone divorced over "irreconcilable differences" is hereby forbidden to become a peace activist. You can't expect and demand unity among the nations, if you can't even get along with your spouse.
