Empire on Ice

Luke Sywalker: I am not afraid.

Yoda: You will be...You wiiiill be.

My Daughter: Dad, why did Yoda say Luke will be afraid?

Me: Well...because he's going to have to face the darkest parts of himself...and it's really difficult to become a Jedi...I guess.

Daughter: You know what would be even more difficult?

Me: What?

Daughter: Ice Skating.

Virginia Jaggers

5 Generations (July 2005): Virginia Jaggers, Dale Jaggers , Marcy [Jaggers] Ramsey, Me, My Daughter

Last week, my family and I traveled to Nashville to celebrate the life of my Great Grandmother, Virgina Frances Jaggers, who passed away on February 28th. As a pastor's wife and mother of eight, she has left behind an enduring legacy of love and faith. Her life was a living example of God's promise:
...for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
-Exodus 20:5-6
JAGGERS, Virginia Frances Age 92 of Hendersonville. February 28, 2009. Born January 19, 1917, passed away Saturday after a lenghty illness. Mrs. Jaggers was preceded in death by her husband, the late Dr. Irwin Jaggers, with whom she served in ministry for many years in the General Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Doris (Jerry) Wetzel and Wilma Wilson, and by her sister, Nellie Jones. Mrs. Jaggers is survived by her daughters, Levetta (Gary) Wolfe and Glenda Jaggers, and by sons, Dean (Hazel), Dale (Debbie), Ben (Mary Anne) and Corlette (Wandalene); sisters, Louise (J. Martin) Deel and Mady (Jerry) Cline; brothers, Henry Sturdivant and R.W. (Gloria) Sturdivant; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Economic Opportunities

Economic Opportunities from City on a Hill on Vimeo.
"Economic Opportunities exists to teach God's work ethic to high-risk men in order for them to know Christ more intimately, to become contributing members of the workforce, and to gain hope in a future."
I've finally finished my first ministry support video for City on a Hill Productions. One of the best parts of my job is getting to see and document Christians who live out their faith in effective ways. Jim Kennedy is a Christian who does just that through his work at Economic Opportunities.

A few months ago, we traveled down to Memphis and interviewed his staff and those who have been blessed by his mission work. Then, having heard their stories, I wrote dramatic content, which we shot and edited with their interviews. I hope you enjoy the final product. Click here to watch in HD.
